During March 18-22, around 30 Beloit dancers traveled to St. Olaf College to attend the North Central American Dance Festival Association (ACDFA). The four day festival included a variety of classes, such as yoga, capoeira, modern, ballet, improvisation and basic spell casting.
In addition to classes, participants attended three adjudicated concerts. David Dorfman, Keith Johnson and Nicole Stanton were the adjudicators and decided which pieces from the concerts would be featured in the gala on the last day of the festival. Professor Chris Johnson presented her piece Resistance, Resilience and Joey Hernandez’11 performed his solo Closure. Closure was selected to be performed at the gala concert.
Other performances by Beloit students include carrycarrycarrycarry, which was choreographed Molly Steigerwald’11 and was shown at an informal concert at the festival.
Beloit dancers had a great time at ACDFA and learned a lot from attending classes, meeting other dancers and attending dance shows.
